Brass lanterns like this were originally used on cargo ships during the 1800’s and later reproductions were sold as souvenirs to commemorate particular fleets. This lantern illuminates an image of the Orion Nebula, one of the most intensely scrutinized celestial objects roughly 1,500 light years away from Earth.
