This decorative light is made from salvaged mundane objects, including: an old flush mounted ceiling light, a horse-drawn carriage light, and small pieces of industrial manufacturing equipment. The back-lit transparency is of “Earthrise”, a photograph taken by Willian Anders during the Apollo 8 mission on December 24, 1968. Andrew was roughly 480 miles above the lunar surface and by chance the orbital capsule was positioned so that he could capture this unique view and phenomenon.
