Brass lanterns like this were originally used on cargo ships during the 1800’s and later sold as souvenirs to commemorate particular fleets. This lantern illuminates an image taken in 2009 of the Sacred Valley in Peru, a highland region that once formed the heart of the Inca Empire and is now dotted with important archeological sights, including Machu Picchu.
