Brass lanterns like this were originally used on cargo ships during the 1800’s and later sold as souvenirs to commemorate particular fleets. This lantern illuminates an image of the Carina Nebula, one of the largest clouds of gas and dust in outer-space and between 6,500-10,000 light years from Earth.
