Brass lanterns like this were originally used on cargo ships during the 1800’s and later reproductions were sold as souvenirs to commemorate particular fleets. This lantern illuminates illuminate “Almond Blossoms” by painter Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890).
